Community Event Standards

When you participate in Undefined events, you have rights and responsibilities that keep our community safe, welcoming, and fun for everyone. For details about how we handle personal information, please review our Privacy Policy.

Age Requirements

Certain Undefined events are restricted to attendees aged 21 and over. Age restrictions are stated on event listings and enforced at the door with valid government-issued photo ID—no exceptions. Misrepresenting your age to gain entry may result in immediate removal and a permanent ban.

Electronic Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing a ticket, completing check-in, or accepting these Terms through any electronic means we provide (including signature capture), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. Electronic acceptance carries the same legal weight as a handwritten signature.

Privacy & Photography

Undefined applies the most restrictive photography and privacy standard at every event. Where this policy, a venue’s own rules, or applicable law (including Washington’s RCW 9A.44.115 on voyeurism) differ, the strictest rule controls. When a venue has its own photography or privacy policy, that policy applies in addition to the rules below.

Spaces Where Photography Is Never Permitted

Recording of any kind (still photos, video, audio, livestream, or drone footage) is strictly prohibited in:

  • Bathrooms, showers, locker rooms, and changing areas
  • Medical, first-aid, or harm-reduction spaces
  • Sleeping areas, tents, cabins, dorms, and any lodging
  • Any other area designated private by event staff or the host venue
  • Any location or situation covered by RCW 9A.44.115 or comparable laws protecting against intimate or non-consensual recording

This prohibition applies to attendees, staff, volunteers, vendors, and event photographers alike, with no exceptions.

Consent at Check-In — What You Are Agreeing To

Attending an Undefined event requires that you agree to these Terms & Conditions, including this Privacy & Photography section. By accepting these Terms at registration or check-in, you are providing the written consent required by law and by any applicable venue policy for identifiable images of you to be captured, retained, and—subject to the Post-Event Photo Review process below—published. You must accept these Terms to attend.

What “private event spaces” means. Undefined events frequently include adult, kink, or otherwise intimate programming. You are explicitly informed and acknowledge that anywhere within Undefined’s private event spaces—including dance floors, play areas, social areas, performance areas, and any other space we have reserved or programmed—may be photographed or recorded by our event photographer, and that the imagery may include intimate, partially clothed, nude, or sexually explicit content depending on the nature of the event. This consent does not extend to “private personal spaces,” which are never recorded: bathrooms, showers, locker rooms, changing areas, medical/harm-reduction spaces, sleeping areas, lodging, or any other space designated private by staff or the venue (see “Spaces Where Photography Is Never Permitted” above).

Why we ask in writing. Washington’s RCW 9A.44.115—and many venue policies—require permission, and for identifiable images posted publicly written consent, before a person’s image is recorded or shared. Tying that consent to acceptance of these Terms at registration/check-in creates the written record those standards require, while still leaving you free to revoke it at any time.

Your consent is explicit, informed, and revocable.

  • At check-in you may decline event-photographer consent. You may also withdraw it at any time—before, during, or after the event—by requesting an opt-out wristband, telling any staff member or the info/registration table, or emailing [email protected]. No explanation is required and there is no penalty.
  • Withdrawing consent applies going forward from the moment you communicate it, and also entitles you to ask us to delete any already-captured images of you under the Post-Event Photo Review and Photo Removal Requests processes below.
  • If you decline consent and do not wish to wear an opt-out wristband or be present in photographable spaces, please speak with staff at check-in so we can discuss your options. We cannot guarantee a photo-free experience for someone who remains in active event spaces without a visible opt-out indicator.

Opt-Out Wristbands

  • Attendees who decline or revoke photo consent will receive a clearly visible (red) opt-out wristband at check-in or any time during the event from the info/registration table.
  • Anyone wearing an opt-out wristband will be avoided, blurred, or excluded from photos whenever possible, and our event photographer is directed to honor the wristband at all times.
  • You can request a wristband mid-event; from that point forward your opt-out applies to all future photos.

Important Limits of Opt-Out

  • Wristbands work best for candid shots and small groups. They may not be visible in large group photos, low-light conditions, or fast-moving scenes—please do not join group photos with the expectation of being blurred out.
  • Other attendees or members of the public may take photos in areas we do not control; we cannot make guarantees about media captured by third parties.
  • If you see a photo of yourself that you wish to have removed, contact us immediately and we will take it down.

Post-Event Photo Review

After every event we run a review window before any photos are published or otherwise shared beyond internal review:

  • We contact checked-in attendees (using the contact details on their registration) and post a review notice in our private Telegram communities.
  • Attendees have a minimum of 48 hours from the time the review is opened to view the photos in which they appear and ask us to remove or modify any of them. We may extend this window, but it will never be shorter than 48 hours.
  • During the review window, nothing is posted to social media, the website, marketing materials, or any other public channel.
  • Any photo an identifiable person asks us to remove or modify during the review window is deleted or edited from the publication set preemptively, before anything goes public.
  • Beyond the review window, you may still request removal or modification of any photo at any time—there is no deadline. Once published photos are subject to the Photo Removal Requests process below; we will remove or modify the image promptly upon request.

Drones and Unmanned Aircraft

Drones, unmanned aircraft, and any other aerial recording devices are prohibited at Undefined events. Where a venue imposes additional drone restrictions, those rules apply as well; Undefined will not authorize or coordinate drone use on venue property.

Personal Recording & Streaming by Attendees

  • Do not record audio, take photos, video, or livestream any identifiable person without their explicit consent given at the time of recording—even in private event spaces. The event-photographer consent given by accepting these Terms covers only Undefined’s official photographer, not other attendees.
  • Recording in any prohibited space listed above is never permitted, regardless of consent.
  • Organizers may direct you to stop recording or to delete media that violates these rules, jeopardizes participant safety, or contravenes venue policy.
  • Personal recordings must honor every opt-out wristband, every venue restriction, and all applicable laws.

Reporting Violations

Undefined has a zero tolerance policy for consent, safety, and rule violations. If you witness or experience a violation, report it immediately to a monitor, organizer, or staff member. Staff will take immediate action—including intervention, escalation to the board, coordination with the venue or with law enforcement where appropriate—and will document the incident as required.

Do not attempt to document or capture violations yourself. We do not want attendees putting themselves at risk by photographing or recording what may be illegal or non-consented imagery. The prohibitions on recording in private personal spaces and the consent rules above apply at all times and have no “documenting a violation” exception for attendees.

Consent must be explicit, informed, and freely given every single time. It cannot be implied by past interactions, social cues, or silence. You are responsible for confirming consent before any interaction and for stopping immediately if it is revoked.

Consent is mandatory for all physical contact, including but not limited to:

  • Touching, hugging, or any physical interaction
  • Intimate contact of any kind
  • Any activity involving bodily contact or physical assist

Ask every time – if you have not clearly heard “yes,” you do not have consent. No means no and “stop,” “not now,” any safe word, or any expression of hesitation must be honored immediately. Pressuring someone, following them, or attempting to wear them down is unacceptable and will result in removal from the event.

Intoxication does not equal consent. A person who is intoxicated, impaired, or incapacitated cannot give valid consent. Do not engage in intimate or physical interactions with anyone whose ability to consent is in question. If you are intoxicated to the point of being unable to maintain safe behavior, you may be asked to leave.

Staff and monitors have final authority. Dungeon monitors, event staff, and organizers may intervene at any time. Their decisions regarding consent, safety, and conduct are final and must be respected without argument.

Venue Care & Respect

Keep Our Spaces Clean:

  • Remove all trash or dispose of it in appropriate receptacles
  • Leave venues as clean as or cleaner than you found them
  • Help maintain the spaces that welcome our community

Respect Property & People:

  • Do not damage or break venue property, equipment, or furnishings
  • Treat venue staff, volunteers, and fellow attendees with kindness and respect
  • Be considerate of noise levels and venue rules
  • Follow all venue-specific guidelines and policies

Food Safety & Wildlife Precautions:

  • Some venues have specific food handling and safety instructions that must always be followed
  • Properly store and dispose of all food and scented items according to venue requirements
  • Follow all wildlife safety protocols, including bear safety measures where applicable

Community Safety

If You See Something, Say Something:

  • Report any concerns, unsafe behavior, or violations to event organizers immediately
  • Help us maintain a safe, welcoming environment for everyone
  • We’re here to make things right - don’t hesitate to speak up
  • All reports will be taken seriously and handled appropriately

Participant Rights & Board Authority

Everyone has the right to enjoy Undefined programs without harassment, undue burden, or safety risks. To uphold that commitment, the Undefined board may suspend or revoke a person’s ability to attend events, volunteer, or participate in any official chat groups at any time and for any reason. While the board retains absolute discretion, suspensions typically occur when an individual presents a safety risk to themselves or others, creates substantial disruption, refuses to respect consent, or otherwise places an undue burden on the community or its organizers.

The board may also bar or limit someone’s participation based on credible information from other community organizations, including incidents that occurred off-site or in other spaces. Suspensions may be temporary, indefinite, or permanent and may be issued with or without prior warning. Refunds for revoked participation follow the Event Refunds policy below unless otherwise determined by the board.

Telegram Community Conduct

Our official Telegram groups extend the same expectations set for in-person gatherings:

  • Treat every member with respect—harassment, hate speech, doxxing, threats, or discriminatory language are prohibited.
  • Keep chats free of spam, solicitation, or disruptive content that derails community support spaces.
  • Do not share screenshots, recordings, or member information outside the group without permission.
  • Moderators may delete content, mute participants, or remove members at their discretion to protect community safety.

Participation in our Telegram spaces is a privilege, not a right, and is subject to the same suspension rules outlined above.

Event Operations

Event Refunds

Up to Two Weeks Before Event:

  • Full refunds will be given automatically where possible
  • Processing fees are non-refundable

Within Two Weeks of Event:

  • Refunds will be given pending our ability to resell your ticket
  • Generally not an issue, but requires approval
  • Processing fees are non-refundable

No-Show Refunds:

  • Given only in extreme extenuating circumstances
  • Requires approval of the board
  • Documentation may be required

Processing Fees:

  • Credit card and third-party processing fees are not refundable
  • In some cases, these fees can be applied as credit toward other tickets at the same event

Accessibility & Accommodations

We strive to make every gathering accessible. Contact us at [email protected] or note your needs during registration as early as possible—ideally two weeks before the event—so we can coordinate with venues and vendors. While we may not be able to fulfill every request, we will make good-faith efforts, communicate available options, and propose alternatives when feasible.

Ticket Transfers & Resale

Tickets are non-transferable without prior approval from Undefined. To request a transfer, contact us with the recipient’s name and contact information. Unauthorized resale, auctioning, or price markups (scalping) are prohibited and may result in ticket cancellation without refund.

Event Changes & Force Majeure

Undefined may modify, postpone, or cancel an event due to circumstances beyond our control, including severe weather, public health guidance, venue issues, or other force majeure events. In such cases, our liability is limited to the remedies described in the Event Refunds policy unless otherwise required by law.

Website Terms of Use

By using this website, you agree to comply with these terms and conditions. Undefined reserves the right to modify these terms at any time.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these external sites.

Limitation of Liability

Event Participation: You participate in Undefined events at your own risk. Undefined, its board members, volunteers, and staff are not responsible for any injuries, damages, losses, or accidents that may occur during events or related activities.

Property and Personal Items: Undefined is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property at events or venues.

Third-Party Venues: Many events are held at third-party venues. Undefined is not responsible for venue conditions, safety, or policies beyond our direct control.

Assumption of Risk: By attending events, you acknowledge and assume all risks associated with participation, including but not limited to physical activity, outdoor conditions, wildlife encounters, and interactions with other participants.

Release of Claims: To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release and hold harmless Undefined from any and all claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your participation in events or use of our services.

Nonprofit Status: As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Undefined operates with limited resources and assets. This limitation of liability reflects our organizational capacity and mission-driven nature.

Support & Educational Content

Our support groups, chat discussions, and educational workshops provide peer-led community care, not clinical therapy, medical treatment, or legal advice. Nothing shared in our programs should be interpreted as a substitute for professional services. Always seek qualified help from licensed providers for medical, mental-health, or legal needs, and contact emergency services if you or someone else is in immediate danger.

Undefined is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Photo Removal Requests

If you see a photo of yourself that you wish to have removed:

  • Email us immediately at [email protected]
  • Include the location/link of the photo and we will remove it promptly
  • We may request validation that you are the person in the photo before removal
  • For group photos, we may blur or block out only the individual rather than removing the entire photo

Violations

Violations of our community guidelines—especially around consent, harassment, and safety—may result in immediate removal from events and indefinite suspension of your right to attend Undefined programs or participate in official chat spaces. The board may impose additional restrictions based on conduct reported by other community organizations whenever it deems necessary to protect participants.

Policy Updates

We may change these terms and conditions from time to time. You are responsible for regularly reviewing these terms so that you are aware of any changes. If you continue to use our services after the time we state the changes will take effect, you will have accepted the changes.
